XanaStim
Next-Generation Wearable Auricular VNS Device
Acting as R&D partner in electronics, firmware, and mechanical design for XanaStim's next-generation Bodus, an auricular vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) device, with a custom electrode design engineered to maximize contact surface, ensure reliability across use cases, and minimize impedance in both dry and wet conditions.
Montevideo Medical Devices is the R&D partner for XanaStim in electronics, firmware, and mechanical design for the next generation of Bodus, an auricular vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) device. MMD is responsible for the electronics and firmware architecture of the Class IIa MDR device, as well as the mechanical design of its electrodes. The electrode design was developed specifically to optimize contact surface area, maintain reliability across a range of real-world use cases, and minimize impedance whether operating in dry or wet conditions, addressing one of the core technical challenges of consistent, comfortable auricular stimulation.
